Lost motivation after I stepped on scale

Okay I've been doing good for a week and a half. Keeping it under 1450 calories a day and excerising even though I know it's no where near full potential. So I'm feeling really good about myself. Then I step on the scale so I can see how the pounds have just fallen off. 2 lbs!!! Is all that I've lost. I know it's something, but really I thought I would of lost more. I don't know if the fact that I'm turning 30 next month has anything to do with how hard weight loss is. But it used to be so easy. How do I get back on that band wagon and keep chugging to the weight I desire?

Sometimes it's discouraging to step on the scale.. but even if you may not be loosing pounds you may be loosing inches!

Keep going in the same direction and before you know it two pounds will be three, three will be four and so on. Just take it one pound at a time. They will keep adding up and before you know it you will have lost lots of weight.0

um... WHAT? 2 lbs in a week and a half IS huge! it takes most of us months if not years to get down to our overall goals so 2 lbs in just over a week is nothing to scoff at!0

With the small amount of weight you have to lose, 2 pounds is great!! You should be aiming for about 1/2 pound a week with the amount you've got to lose, as that's as low a daily caloric deficit that you want to hit.
You say you're eating 1450 calories a day and exercising--are you eating your exercise calories, too?
But congrats on the 2 pounds!! That is wonderful, even if it doesn't feel like it right now.0 -
i feel the same way as you! i'm about to loose my motivation also. i only lost, LOST 3 pounds for the entire month of may, and it's almost halfway through June. *SCREAAAAAMS
the other day when i weighed myself it said i lost 2 pounds, and then yesterday it said i gained the 2 pounds back. this is soooooo discouraging!:sad:0 -
MFP says that 2lbs a week is almost unhealthy. So that being said, 1 pound a week is what they consider healthy. You are right on track, 1.5 pounds for 1.5 weeks. Weight loss doesn;t happen over night, you have to stick with it. Its a slow and gradual process. Congratulations on your first 2 lbs to a new you.:drinker:0

oh I soooo know how you feel. I hate that scale!!!!!!
All I can say is what everyone else is saying DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!
It is so frustrating but 2 pounds even 1 ounce lost is in the right direction. At least you didn't gain.
Keep up the good feelings and don't look at that scale. Do your clothes fit better? Focus on the positive not the negative.0 -

If you look at my profile, you will see that some weeks I lost 5lbs and some weeks 0lbs - it's just the way the body adjusts!!! 2lbs in great, and if you could do that every week and a half, by Thanksgiving you would lose 40lbs!!! (not that you have even close to that to lose - just trying to illustrate a point!)....
I've been stuck for 4 weeks with no loss, but on the positive side, I'm 29lbs lighter than after my daughter was born, and at least I'm not gaining!!!... try to stay positive!

2 pounds is a lot. At least to me it is. From april 21 - may 22, i had lost ony 3 pounds and i was a bit dissapointed at first becasue my clothes were so loose i thought for sure i had lost more. But i am very happy now. At least u have lost and it all adds up in the end.0

He's so right... plus make sure you are drinking your 64 plus oz of water... also is that enough calories for your body? don't want it to go into starvation mode!
oh and try measuring yourself... not weightin. you'd find youlose more in inches esp at first!
