Off the meds and trying to get back on track

Hey all, joined here a while back but didn't really get anywhere thanks to the medication I was on. For the past 5 years I've been medicated for epilepsy and have piled on around 80lbs in that time with no amount of calorie counting or exercise making even a dent in it. Well, I'm off the medication now (and seizure free for 3 months which is longer than I went between seizures while medicated!) and I'm trying to get back on track. I'm no longer constantly hungry, no longer so uncoordinated and dopey that even simple exercises are dangerous and, hopefully, will be able to lose the weight I've piled on.

Any tips on keeping motivated would be appreciated. I used to do weight watchers with my mum but don't have anyone to sort of team up with now as I'm married, living miles away and in the middle of nowhere.

Just take it one day at a time. Find a friend or online buddy to chat with when you want to quit.
