So hubby's been in Italy since last Thursday, weathers been in the 40's and my air conditioner broke down. I've come down with a sinus infection that has gone to my lungs. I have no appetite and I've been drinking alot of gingerale.
i feel like hech!!!!

I'm still losing but I haven't been to the gym in a week. I have done some walking but that's it. How long does it take for our bodies to go into starvation?

IT DOESNT TAKE LONG FOR THE BODY TO THINK IT IS STARVING, IT CAN BE A FEW HOURS, IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY. MAYBE TRY AND EAT SOMETHING LIGHT LIKE YOGART. A GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST MAYBE, GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING. WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS. SHOW YOURSELF THAT YOU CAN DO THIS EVEN WITH A MILLION BUMPS IN THE ROAD. WE ARE HERE FOR YOU.

:flowerforyou: Hang in, it will get better! Try to eat at least soup, crackers, grilled cheese sandwich of some eggs with toast; easier to fix the better. If you haven't please go to your doctor and get a perscription to ease your symptoms, once your do start feeling better the rest will come along and you'll be able to handle it better!

Thank you guys!! It sounds so bad but I'm used to having my husband to take care of me when I'm sick.  but grilled cheese and soup sounds really good right now! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

I'm trying to eat well when I do eat. I'll give my body another days rest then it's right back on track exercise wise.

Your blood sugar levels will drop within a few hours of not eating, promoting the release of stored sugars and triglycerides, so it's not dangerous to go several hours without eating. You only need the equivalent of one packet of sugar for your entire body, and you have more than enough stored for even a couple of days. In most studies I've read, hormone levels don't change drastically until about the 16 hour mark of fasting, at which point you'll see a release of more catabolic hormones to break down higher amounts of glycogen, triglycerides, and even some protein (via the muscles). At around 40 hours of fasting, you'll see a downregulation of the metabolic rate and a decrease in these hormones as you approach homeostasis again. Of course, chronically undereating for days at a time can have a similar effect to a 40 hour fast.
