Fit Bit vs. Body Bugg vs. other options?

To those who have a fitbit...the one thing I am confused about is how it tracks calories burned versus what you eat. I assume that it tracks cals burned via infrared or whatever but does it rely on you to input what you eat each day on the site? I understand that you can just do "lunch 450 cals" as a group thing so you aren't logging twive if you use MFP, but I guess I'm just not getting it.
There is a food diary on FitBit website but it is not as robust or user friendly as MFP. I enter all my food here and then transfer that one daily total to FitBit. I just updated my blog last night with some screen shots if you want to check it out: http://girlgetfit.wordpress.com/2011/01/31/fitbit-screen-shots/0 -
I am a die hard body bugger and have the body bugg sp that works with my android phone. I will say i am tiering of the ridiculousness of the food log and the user unfriendliness of the site. I was reading on teh body bugg forums the other day that the fitbit gives a very very similar readout calorie wise, which is what i really use it for. And ther eis no subscription fee, and you can upload without taking the thing off, and you can wear a sun dress. I'm really thinking of getting myself a fit bit, and using both for a week or two to see how it works out. If they are the same, i will sell my bodybugg and subscription, which is paid through december, the thing is just so unuserfriendly. I need those numbers tho, they are like my diet crack, lol.0

The problem I have found with my BodyBugg (actually a Body Media Fit but they're exactly the same) is that it's inaccurate for cardio - like spin, elliptical etc.
Wed I went to spin for 50 minutes (HR around 155/160 avg) then walked for 20 (HR around 115 avg). It told me I burned 250 during spin and 125 walking. It'd be better if it could take into account your heart rate to account for cardio and not just use movement and heat. (I don't sweat.)
It also tells me I never get into vigorous activity, just moderate, although I might be working out at 85-90% HR.
For the amt you pay for it.... I'm just hanging on to mine for a couple more months mostly because I want to track how much sleep I actually get after this baby gets here! Plus, I can test out it's accuracy a bit better when I am not pregnant and am actually trying to lose.0
