1200 calories eaten or 1200 calories eaten + worked off?

I'm not trying to get the lowest amount I can, but because I'm trying to watch my sugar and sodium intake, I'm barely over the 1200 calorie mark. Am I allowed to exercise with a diet so low in calories? Is it 1200 calories just eaten or 1200 calories total from what you ate and what you burned?

You need 1200 NET calories. If you ate 1200, but exercised and burned off 300, then your NET calories would be 900 (1200-300=900). So you need to eat 300 more calories to stay at 1200.0

As far as the sugar goes.. are you eating a lot of fruit? Because I go over my daily sugar according to MFP nearly every day because of fruits, and I've been told on numerous occasions that you shouldn't count sugar from fruit against you.
But yeah, if you do eat 1200 calories, then exercise, you're expected to eat however many calories you just worked off since 1200 net calories per day is how much you should consume minimum.0 -

Yeah most of my sugars are from fruits, veggies, and a little bit from the bread that I eat with dinner. But I'm trying to watch my sugar because I had blood work done recently and I was six points over the highest for the normal range for blood glucose levels. My dad is diabetic and I don't want to develop diabetes ever, but especially at my age because I just turned 26.
I suppose if I did exercise, I would be able to consume more sugars but it's still very difficult to manage the numbers so that they compliment one another.0 -
If I can make recommendation...instead of eating the packet oatmeal with all the added sugars.. get minute un flavored oatmeal or steal oats and add stevia or fruit or sweetness.0
