I'm a full-time veterinarian and mother of 2 (6 and 3) from the snowbelt. I love any outdoor activity - hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, kayaking, skiing, snowshoeing... you name it! This summer I ran several 5Ks and my first sprint triathalon. Then winter came...with Thanksgiving and Christmas....and all the trimmings. And I was NOT a good girl! I've packed on 10 lbs since September - aarrrrggghhhh!!! Really need to find the motivation to get back on track and back into my running shoes.

Logging on to here is a good start. Our profiles are very similar, including the weight gain since September. Of course, you have the extra challenge of having to fit in exercise with your full-time job. I found that signing up for the family classes at my local martial arts gym was a great way for all of us to be fit, especially me.

I just started this about two days ago and I am just as addicted to this, as I am to competing in races.
    Good Luck in your journey.

Wow your adventures. I'm just coming back to mfp been gone for a while and just lost my way. In need of inspiration and friend to help me get started again.
  • Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! It's hard to get back on track when I've been shlubbing it for the last few months, but I think being on here will really help. I did weight watchers after my second child was born and I lost 30 lbs - so I was REALLY excited to find a free format.
@ doutri2 - have you heard of the Warrior Dash? I think some friends and I are going to try the one in Ohio in June. Looks crazy, but fun! LOL
