I have a 3 year old and a very clingy 7 month old.....my mother in law spoils my 3 yr old so much that i have trouble getting her to listen and keep her toys picked up..sometimes i just wanna pull my hair out! and the thing is my mother in law live right down the street so its not like she spoils them just cause she only sees them once in a while. anywho back on topic today i have tried to get in my 30 minute run on the treadmill and yet to have finished it because my 3 yr old wont listen and my 7 month old cries everytime i put her down! sorry for the vent just had to get it out! i should mention that i have already lost 7 lbs since january 12. but anyway thank you for listening.

Jogging stroller FTW. Sounds like Everybody Loves Raymond.

yea, thats tough. Mabye a gym with free daycare? I know this would incur an expense, but it'd be great to have some mommy time for your sanity as well. Or hire a kid afterschool to watch them for an hour while you exercise???

You are a SAINT. I couldn't even live that close to my own mother, let alone my MIL.

I hope you can get your run in.

I have a 2.5yr old and a 2m old and am having a hard time finding time to work out as well! But, I just tell myself that my kids are priority and eventually things will calm down enough for me to get regular activity in. If I can eat healthy and stick to my calorie goal that's better than what I was doing before. I've lost 10lbs so far with minimal workouts.

Sorry to hear about the fustrating situation with your MIL! Grandparents are a blessing and also a curse sometimes, but they mean well :) You just need to put your foot down because YOU'RE the MOM. I know it's easier said than done so good luck!
  • thanks everyone! i wish i could join a gym but i live about 45 minutes out of town and by the time you factor in the gas and time just to get there..... but all in all i have seen some results...some days are better than others.. i guess its just getting to me today. i tried to clean my daughters room and that was a work out in its self! haha. and by the way why do they make toys with sooo many parts!!! lol
  • When I read your post I thought I was looking in a mirror! My six month old naps on ME, I can barely put him down. My three year old daughter is like a test from the universe upon my ability to remain patient and humane. My 10 year old son is copping enough attitude for an episode of Cops, where's my work out time? WAAHHH. And I'm a SAHM. I think I'm going to have to wake at 4 am or something to get this done!

When my 14 month old son is fussy or clingy, I throw him in the stroller and walk, or the hiking pack or a front pack. It actually quiets him down and often puts him right to sleep! Good luck, being a Mom is hard!

I feel your pain. It is SO hard to include fitness in the busy life of a mama. It sounds like you are doing a fabulous job so far.....7 lbs in less than a month, WOW!!! Keep up the amazing work!

My husband is an OTR truckdriver and we have 3 little kiddos, ages 6, 5, and 2. I gave up long ago trying to do at-home fitness while they are up. (I have a secret fear of them getting hurt by the treadmill; and I get too frustrated when I have to stop-and-go during anything else.)

My fitness plan of action includes utilizing the gym childcare 3 days a week (my strength training days); and on my 3 cardio days, I just wait until they are asleep at night to hit the treadmill. It does get late, and sometimes I get frustrated that I can't always exercise during "normal" hours like "normal" people do! But I have to look at it as an investment in my health, and realize that where there is a will, there is a way!

I wish you the best in your fitness journey. Keep doing what you are doing, because it is working!
