Just wanted to stop in and say hello and share some of the progress I've made prior to joining mfp. I've lost some 60lbs overall and I did it in a little over a year. I mainly focused on my eating habits. There was some exercise involved but nothing too rigorous. Even now I do cardio for only 20 minutes per session, just several times a week at the most. I usual burn between 200 to 300 calories. I'm not motivated to do more than that.
Unlike all my other failed attempts at weight loss over the years I was determined to focus just on my diet this time around. I not only wanted to lose the weight but I wanted to keep it off. And I knew needed to change my relationship with food. Period. My desire to improve my money management skills is what led the way. I was blowing anywhere between $300 to $400 on food alone, just for myself, every month. Enough was enough.
These last 30lbs are going to be the most challenging and I know I need to be more structured in my efforts to lose weight. I need to closely monitor what I'm eating because guesstimating isn't going to cut it anymore. This is where mfp comes in. I like that fact that it does the math for me which is a major plus!
Anyways, I'm looking forward to losing these last 30lbs or so and for the first time know what it feels like to be in shape.
