Big reason to lose weight!

I am trying to drop some weight by the beginning of the summer. Why? I'm getting married to a wonderful man whom I have known for about 30 years. We are both heading into marriage #2 and are so excited to be together!! (He lives in a different state :( I purchased a simple and beautiful dress online, intentionally too small, so that I would have motivation to be toned and gorgeous on our wedding day. I have lost 11 pounds to date and the skirt is really close. The bodice? It's gonna take some more time!! That's okay, I have some time and lots of determination! If I do have to add a teeny bit of fabric, it will not be the end of the world, but I am going to give it my all!

  • Good luck, hope your dress will fit perfectly! I usually lose it off the top first, but would rather it were the other way around. LOL

    Wow!! I'm excited for you! Using the dress is a great motivation. Have you been trying to lose weight very long? There are lots of people posting tips on the forums here. Just be safe and do your own research on anything that sounds risky or questionable.

    My best advice is
    1. drink plenty of water, and stay away from sodas, even diet sodas can slow down your progress
    2. set your calorie goals below your BMR (check the tools tab) but still above the safely suggested 1200
    3. keep an eye on the sodium too (I try to keep mine around 2,000, just below the suggested 2,500)
    4. don't give up if you have a set-back, keep at it with determination
    5. excercise, daily if possible, but at least 3-4 times per week

    Once you start shedding the weight, you will build up a momentum and see faster results.
