    Hello everyone,

I actually got to exercise yesterday and it felt so good! It amazing how just missing a couple of weeks can make your muscles ache.

Hopefully, everyone is doing well and we can get this forum going again.

Hello ladies, I'm sooooo sorry I've been MIA lately but please know I'm definitely here in spirit. I really miss my fun and fit sized gals and the daily posts. I have to admit that I think my lack of posting has derailed a little bit of my progress. I've still been exercising daily and for the most part eating pretty good but lately i've been getting derailed on the weekend. While I generally have more time to post on the weekends I'm so mentally drained from the work week that I don't want to look at a computer. As a result of not posting daily and the stress of trying to complete this project by it's deadline I've been eating ALOT more candy and junk on the weekends than normal. I've been trying to use my upcoming trips as motivation but it's not as helpful as usual.

I hope all my fun and fit sized gals are still doing well. I apologize but I have not had an opportunity to read through posts. The second part of the project will begin late next week and i'm hopeful that the stress will subside (at least temporarily) and I will be able to be a little more active on the boards. Time will tell.

    Hello all,

Just a quick post before I start cleaning the house.

I found this link today about desserts. I thought it might help those of us who end up eating out. http://health.yahoo.net/experts/eatthis/7-desserts-fight-fat

I know I just love the JR Frosty and was so happy to see it as one of the 7 healthy desserts along with ice cream in general.

    Have a great day all,

    Hi all,

Hubby & I went on a bike ride today on the trace. It was a little chilly, but so much fun. I've missed riding my bike because of winter. We have a hill to come back up to go home and I didn't have to walk/push my bike. I actually rode it the whole way home! A few things I have discovered this past week....chocolate tastes extremely sweet to me and I can't eat as much of it as I used to, the sweet and sour chicken I used to love from our local Chinese place tasted extremely greasy to me and I actually only drank 1/2 of a margarita wine cooler tonight. I do believe I am making some progress!!
  • Daybyday...isn't it great when your taste buds change? (although sometimes a little sad initially when you expect something to taste really good...to be a real treat...and then it isn't.) You then get to experiment with finding new treats. Its also great when your baseline fitness changes. Yesterday it was 65 degrees, so I randomly took a 4.5 mile walk through the city. Now...I'm mostly been sitting on my lazy little bum all winter. A little exercise here, a little exercise there...but nothing to write home about. Winter makes me hibernate...I'm not proud of it, but it is what it is. But, it is really nice when my baseline level of fitness allows me to just be motivated by the nice weather to just take a walk for pleasure. It wasn't exercise...it was just fun. A few years ago, I wouldn't have been in good enough shape to consider that "fun."

So I hear you, daybyday. Sometimes progress isn't measured by the scale or by how many miles we do on the treadmill, but by how the everyday changes.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Finally, I got in some exercise today: 30 minutes on the bike,20 minutes jogging in place and arm weights. I hope to do 30 minutes more on the bike tonight before I go to bed.

DaybyDay- Glad to hear you are seeing improvements in habits from all your hard work.

Tatiana - Glad to hear you can enjoy a walk now. Your dedication is paying off.

    Have a great Monday all,

Good morning all...hope everyone one is well. I have kind of stalled out at 108 pounds and I'm a little bummed about that but still determined to get those last pesky 8 pounds off!:grumble: Yesterday was my birthday and nothing like celebrating with a 10 mile run it felt awesome!!! Nothing like a good long run to take your mind off things. I hope everyone has a great day :flowerforyou:

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: It's good for my fitness level that I don't sit at the computer (or anywhere else) for very long, but it's kept me from posting.

:flowerforyou: hubby was gone to Seattle for the day on Sunday and when I thought about all the things I would like to do with some time alone, and I realized that taking a walk on the Discovery Trail was at the top of my list, so I put on my warm clothes, hooked up my MP3 player and bluetooth and drove to place I don't usually go and walked for over an hour with a view of the Olympic Mountains, farmland, and got to see a small plane take off from the airport that borders the trail.
yes, I took the dogs to the dog park earlier.....I couldn't have gone for a walk in good conscience if I hadn't taken them first.

:flowerforyou: you're all right about taste buds changing.......after two years of healthy eating, there's no way I could eat KFC chicken, onion rings, other greasy salty foods that I used to love...........I can still eat peanut butter or Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal to excess.

My son is home now. Hubby did not leave (not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing), so we shall see what happens next around here. I held my own weight wise for February, but it was definitely a very stressful month.

I am hoping to get back on track starting today and actually lose a couple of pounds in March.

Barbie - I hope you are careful when walking alone. While I am sure that you are, I just wanted to mention a good safety tip is to always tell someone where you are going and when you will be back. If you can't tell someone, leave a note in your house some place very noticeable. Sorry, all those years of being in search and rescue are coming back to me now. lol It sounds like a wonderful walk.

thanks for the concern.....yes, my hubby knows where I'm walking, I carry my cell phone, and the trail I walk is the Olympic Discovery Trail, a popular paved trail with other walkers and bike riders and I only walk during the middle of the day.

:flowerforyou: Today is the third day of snow on the ground and temperatures below freezing so my outdoor exercise is walking the dogs in the back yard and taking the dogs to the dog park so they can run in the snow......I've been riding the exercise bike, line dancing in the kitchen, dancing in front of the TV, and walking up and down the hall.......line dance classes were canceled so I had my own dance session by myself.

:flowerforyou: JAM take it one day at a time with your son and hubby and come from a place of love
