Ok so I know this is bad and please don't bite my head off but, I wanted to know if anyone has had any weird experiences w/ equal. I normally put 2 in my morning cup of Jo. Thing is, my new box that I have, isn't working it seems. I put in 2, then 1 more, then 2 more and still not sweet. I don't get it. I actually resorted to 1 tsp of real sugar in my coffee yesterday. Anyone else ever have a "bad" box of equal? Or are my taste buds playing tricks on me? (sigh)

try stevia. it is supose to be the healthiest for you. all that other stuff is chemicals. i weened myself off sugar in my coffee years ago, milk or creamer only. although after reading creamer label (high frutose) no more of that, going to try almond milk.

I agree with Jenny. Splenda is fantastic.

I have had bad boxes of Splenda before. Then again it did sit in the pantry for a long time before I used it. Since the majority of stuff in the artificial sweetners is filler or chemicals to keep it from clumping up, it would be possible to get a batch that hadn't been mixed properly. Pitch it and get another one from a different store.

    I use Splenda.
  • I use stevia and it's so sweet that I only use about 1/3 to half a packet. It's made from an herb, but has no calories.
  • +1 for Splenda.

I like splenda. I cant stand stevia. I bought it two different times to try it out but there is an aftertaste that I can't stand. I ended up donating one to my school staff room (that was truvia) and the other box to my mom (stevia packets from Trader Joes)... I have never had a bad batch of equal or splenda, but it's possible that it is a bad batch. Maybe write to them and ask them for a replacement? (My grandma is always a big fan of doing that, she gets a lot of free stuff that way, just by telling them about some defect, not demanding a replacement but they give her one anyway so she doesn't become a disgruntled customer)

I've had problems with equal before. I've put it in my cereal occasionally when I wanted to sweeten my rice crispies, and really couldn't taste it at all. When I use it in iced tea, I can taste it.

I can't get used to Splenda, it has a bitter after taste to me

If you are going to have sugar, have real sugar. Having fake sugar isn't any better for you, and I believe tends to fool people into thinking they are being healthy.
