Seriously craving salt

I always had a sweet tooth. I've been doing lower-carb pretty faithfully for a month now (70-100g/day), have lost about 11 pounds, and am REALLY craving salt--salty sunflower seeds, nuts, saltier meat, etc. Any ideas why this may be, or what I can do to adjust my diet to help with this? I just adjusted my settings so I can track sodium and I am WAY over.

    usually when we get cravings, it's because we are missing something in our diet. When I crave salt (usually chips), I try to eat carrots (the crunch of the chips is replaced by the crunch in the carrot). I don't know if that makes sense at all, and I caved in to my chips craving today... my biggest weakness.
