Yum!!!! My grandpa used to have a big farm, but he moved and now just has a little veggie garden...but I loooove going to visit because all of his food is so fresh! He slices the tomatoes and just puts salt and pepper on them, and they're so flavorful and firm, nothing like that grainy nastiness you get in stores. Then he makes butter beans and 'garbage salad', which is all of the veggies tossed in his homemade salad dressing, which is a secret recipe. But he lives all the way in Michigan!

*Mel runs to the kitchen to get tomatos for all*

No poopie on these boys.....just soil and miracle grow!!!!

It's sad times when we have to be scared of our food, couple years ago it was strawberries, last year it was spinich, this year it's tomatos.......*jumping on the soapbox* if our stores bought them from our own growers in our own country......... *jumps off soapbox*

I'm so jealous. Mine are still about a month from picking time. NOTHING beats the taste of a homegrown tomato. My mouth is watering at the thought....

This is one of the advantages of living in the sweltering south, our growing season starts earlier so we get ripe fruits and veggies earlier.
