should we consume on a dialy basis. I was watching The Rachel Ray show yesterday and this guy was on there(fitness dude) and he said our daily dose should be 15grams per day. Is this really true? i was reading my the milk label(2%) and that alone has 11g of sugar.....that barley leaves 4g for the reast of the day. What im trying to ask really is, is there good sugar and bad sugar.

TIA

I saw that too. I think as a whole our society really is addicted to sugar. But I'm sorry. There are too many help benefits to say, eat my two apples a day. I'm not giving those up. My goal is to avoid as much added sugar as possible. That's a realistic plan. Lose the prepackaged food-sold me long ago. Extremes like that though are why people fail and then eat a pint of ice cream.

That said, I have gone sugar free, including fruit for two weeks to resent my bodies desire for sweets. If your addicted to sweet it really does make a difference. But my stance on the extreme kicks in after that. Moderation, nature choices, and of course less.
  • sorry I don't know how many grams you should have however on your food diary you can add 'sugar' into the bottom. so you can see how much you are suppose to have and how close you are to it at the end of the day - just like calories, fat, carbs etc...you can track it.

I love my apples too and eat about 2 a day, so when i saw that show i was like really? I don't do much processed food if at all(cook at home almost all the time). I was on google and searching for this too but on there it say's your daily dose should be 32 grams and not to worry about Mil,Veggies,Fruit those are good sugar's. Thanks for replying, both of you:)

I don't worry too much about sugar, as I eat very little processed sugar. Generally what sugar I do get is in fruit, and the other benefits of fruit (fibre, various vitamins and micronutrients) far outweigh the extra sugars.
