Tempting weekend

So I am heading to the Dallas/Fort Worth area this weekend to shake things up. I am concerned about all of the temptation that awaits. This will be a test of willpower for sure. Also, I won't have a computer so I will be going through MFP withdrawals!
Any one know of fun things to do in Dallas that won't involve eating and drinking??

hahaha oh man, i am having a flashback to my last weekend! my sister got married so my entire family headed down south to savannah georgia where i swear, ALL THEY DO IS EAAATTT!!! i was constantly surrounded with food (and no computer; i almost went crazy!). i tried so hard to be good and basically just made better choices at the restaurants/reception/etc. i ended up losing a pound! (it may have been from my constant sweating in the savannah heat though lol)
just be conscious of what's going into your body. and if you're going to texas to sightsee/look around/etc. you'll be walking constantly. if not, just make an effort to go for a few walks throughout the day.
here's a few sites about things to do in dallas:

hope it helped!0 -
That is great advice. Thank You!
I know what you mean about the deep south too. I am from the Mississippi Gulf Coast and all they do down there is eat. At least there we have fresh seafood to incorporate in to make it healthier.0 -
mmm seafood... i was introduced to a "country boil" last weekend... shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn, and cabbage... all you can eat put right in front of you? that was quite a bitter sweet moment for me. haha although, i must say after i ate all that i did resist dessert. go me! haha0

I am in the same boat as you this weekend. It's my b-day on Sunday. I would much rather give myself the gift of health, rather than eat my way thru the weekend as a way to celebrate (which is how I used to do up my b-day). So on sunday, we are going for a hike with the family, that should help. And I just decided that food does not have to be the main foucs. What a strange concept for me! LOL!:ohwell:
Anyhow, good luck, and have fun in Texas!

Happy Early Birthday!!! :flowerforyou:
Don't feel bad for special occasion splurges. We need a little bit of a celebration every now and then. That is what I love about this site...it has shown me in black and white, the difference between a little indulgence and an overindulgence.
The family hike sounds like a great way to celebrate your birthday!!
Enjoy your day!0 -

Mmmmm, country boils, sooooo good...I would always bogard the seafood and stay away from the potatoes as my better eating plan.0 -

Awwww Thanks! Don't worry, I am going to splurge a bit. However I am saving my calories for beer :drinker: . LOL! is that bad?
The problem is that every weekend this month there is some sort of event. And at the end of it all I am spending the last weekend with a bunch of guys from HS, some of whom I haven't seen in 20 years. So I really want to look my best. How shallow is that?
But not to worry I will have fun this weekend! You too!0 -
I planned out my dinner tonight based on how many beers I can have. So I am right there with you!
And you aren't shallow at all. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look great.0
