I have to say that the discussions on this topic have been the most civil political discussion I have ever read on the internet. when I checked this morning the only post I read were disturbing to me but the maturity with which the conversations have continued have given me a lot of respect for the people here.

I want to say it so bad........ Ok since the lobbyists are out, healthcare is cheaper, we'll make it available for everyone. It will cost you 10 percent of your income ( and yes senators and millionairs have to pay too, you can also pay extra and get upgradet) but it will save a lot since we will be able to catch problems when they start and not in the end stages. We will also develope solar and wind energie... if europe can do it why not we?
Just a little remark on the side Germany was vorbidden(after 2nd world war) to fight in a country that did not attac or threaten them unless it was sanktioned by the Nato.
By the way Fatsis I agree with you , in Gernany prostiution is legalised ( they even have their own union) and the rates for rape are a lot lower then over here.

I think the greatest part of legalized prostitution (besides a reduction in rape) is the mandatory VD testing...now the girls pay taxes, have health care, use condoms, and are tested regularly. Our country seems to like to immoralize, then illegalize...previously therapeutic drugs, alcohol, prostitution, concealed weapons...Reefer Madness was just a film adaptation of how we view every vice at some point. "________" is immoral and leads to a degradation of our own moral fibers, so it needs to be illegal! Then we get a booming black market for it instead. :laugh:

Songbyrd, I agree 100%. A lot of people are making money off of illegal drugs, and prostitution, simply because it's illegal. If it were decriminalized to some extent, the market for it would be a lot smaller.

I completely agree, this is the most civil "debate' I have ever read on a forum. I cannot believe the content and that people are not picking eachother apart. I am in a natural cures group and you would not believe the slander I read on the topic of circumcision, and another on dog breeding, and to think we can discuss all the major no-nos, politics and religion, and everyone is civil and decent about it. I am in awe, and I love this site even more now!! Kudos to all of you!!
