delicious tofu brownies
i just made the most wonderful brownies i've ever eaten -- and they're made of tofu. check it out, i got the recipe here--
http://www.nasoya.com/recipes-results.html?recipe_product_type=Silken Style Creations&recipe_dish_type=
&recipe_diet_type=&recipe_keyword=&id=170
except when i made them, i didn't include the chocolate pieces -- merely because i didn't have any!
and, as an added bonus, after i poured the batter into the pan, i tossed in about half a cup of organic frozen strawberries, and i baked it for 20 minutes, not 30 like it suggests.
they came out PERFECT -- warm and gooey on the inside, strawberry juice oozing throughout the batter. mm mm mm so good. and i just added the recipe into mfp's my recipes -- one brownie is only 193 calories!
happy eating!

I've seen that recipe on Nasoya. I've always been hesitant, does it have any tofu texture/taste?0

i genuinely couldn't taste the tofu -- but perhaps that's because i'm so used to the taste of tofu in the first place!
even when you first open the package and smell the tofu, it just smells like chocolate. it's incredible.
as far as texture is concerned, i made sure to blend the batter well enough so that it was smooth and not chunky. so personally, i didn't taste the tofu, in flavor or in texture.0 -
I've made them and they are awesome!
And tofu truly doesn't have a taste...it's like water, lol. It just absorbs the flavors it's cooked with.
Being a vegan for five years truly makes you learn to alter your cooking and ingredients. Vegan cupcakes are to die for!
I have this book and the recipes are delish....

Oh wait, I didn't realize it was made with the Nasoya Silken Creations Dark Chocolate. I LOVVVVE that stuff! I made the pie version of it once and it was amazing!! I couldn't taste any weird tofu flavor that shouldn't be there.
But all the stores by me stopped carrying it. I am so bummed!0 -
I think tofu has a specific flavor/texture, but I don't mind it at all in my savory food, it's just sweet food that I'm pickier about.
That being said, being married to a vegan and living a mostly-vegan lifestyle, I can testify that vegan desserts can be seriously delicious!0 -
Hmm this sounds interesting! I am going to make it tomorrow!0
