I have about 12lbs to lose to my goal weight which I think I can do if I bust my butt then next couple of months. We have decided to have another child...so that makes 3! I am excited and nervous for sure. We have infertility issues so it will be a tough go and I really REALLY want to stick to calorie counting as much as I can while pregnant. I seem to use pregnancy as an excuse to eat crap. I gain a lot of weight all over, I am not just a belly girl I am a fat everywhere kinda gal.

I need advice on how to do it properly. I am sure I have tons of time but just curious how calorie counting is while trying to coceive, to getting pregnant and have a c-section.

Normally I go with the flow and deal with the weight after delivery/breastfeeding but I just think it will be easier to stick with it this time around.

Give me any tips, suggestions or advice you got.

  • I am hypo-thyroid, so with my last pregnancy I had to be VERY careful to not gain weight. My OB-GYN had me eat 100 calories every two hours between 3 balanced meals. I only gained 12 pounds and never felt hungry. On top of that it made it easy to get all the vegetable, fruit and dairy in my diet.

Don't forget they now say you only need to eat 300-500 more than you ate before you were pregnant.

    Best of luck to you!

Thanks! So 300-500 on top of maintenance? Right now I am eating 1330 to lose 1lbs a week.
