Has anyone tried the VFF's? I wanted to know how they work, and if they feel good. I have a herniated disc in my lower back, and soft cartilage/ and deterioration in my knees, so I've heard they are not good for those sort of injuries. I want a real persons perspective.

I hesitate to say that I tried them, since it was just a walk around the store when i got fitted for running shoes. But I'm posting anyways since I have knee and back issues, too (a herniated disk in my lower back, even). The man who advised me on what type of shoes to get said that VFFs could be really good or really bad, depending mostly on having correct form and muscles that were developed enough.
We decided that I was too heavy and my muscles weren't developed enough for it to be a good idea for my knee or my back. He suggested running it by a doctor / pt if I ever wanted to try them.0
