So I've lost almost 20lbs in the last 7 weeks. I'm pretty sure come weigh-in day on Saturday I'll be down below 20lbs. I was feeling great. In addition to weighing myself weekly my trainer also measured every month. So she took my measurements today and I've GAINED inches almost EVERYWHERE!! Like almost back to where I was when I started 7weeks ago.

7 weeks later and I'm 20lbs less, but just as big as I was before. How is that possible!??

Most people experience the opposite. The scale will go up b/c people are gaining muscle, but it takes up less room than fat so you look smaller and lose inches. But how you explain losing weight and GAINING inches?? And I'm not anywhere near my goal weight.

I realize I should be really happy and proud of my weight loss...and I am. It's just disheartening to look as big as I did 20lbs ago :(

Maybe she miss measured. how do your clothes fit
?? Just keep at it. The number keeps going down so will the inches.

It could be because you had a lot of sodium within the few days of the measurement and you were bloated. Do NOT get discouraged! You have to keep on going! 20 lbs is a lot and you really should be proud! =)

Also you want to make sure that you are eating enough protein to sustain your muscle mass!.....otherwise you might have lost alot of muscle and therefore you wouldnt shrink as much because muscles takes up less space than fat...so less muscle and more unlost fat = slight increase in measurements. But not to worry. keep working out and do more strength training and eat very CLEAN the next couple of weeks and you should see more results!

That being said, well done on your 20 pound loss that is still something on its own.
    Stay well
