So I have been looking at BodyBuggs and dang they are expensive, I know that there are some HRM watches but to be quite honest I dont know anything about either. What I do know is that I would like to know actually how many calories i am burning during my workouts, and I do not want to spend a fortune doing it. Any thoughts? What do some of you use?

I was curious about the same thing! Pretty broke and can't afford anything really expensive, but sometimes it's hard to estimate the calories I've burned for various cardio activities...0

You don't have to spend a small fortune for an accurate HRM. I have the New Balance pink and gray HRM watch. I love it! No chest strap required. It takes your pulse by laying two fingertips on the face of the watch. Takes 5 seconds and you don't have to stop moving. Mine is accurate to within 20 or so calories of what MFP says. Example: I danced for 50 minutes. HRM said 600 calories burned, MFP said 606 calories burned. You just have to lay your fingers on it every 3 or 4 minutes while you are working out so it can keep accurate track of your changing heart rate that of course changes during a workout depending on what you are doing. It's $45 on Amazon. Here is a link to it on Amazon:

I just bought one off Ebay for around $20. You can find great deals. Mine does have the chest strap, which seems to be most recommended.0

Polar FT4.
they're an "older" model, Polars are some of the most popular on the market, rave reviews on all their products and just got one myself. This is the least expensive and still very good quality. Does have a chest strap (recommended).0 -
There are several good ones with chest straps that run about $75-$100. Still expensive, but a third of the cost. Polar ft4 or ft7 are good.0
