The thing that has worked for me is not to consider yourself on a diet. I have changed my eating and exercise habits. Just take it one day at a time. Each day can be a victory.0

Thanks, that's what I'm trying to do. Make lifestyle changes for the long term!0

I agree, this isn't a diet. It's a lifesyle chage for the better. Feel free to send me a friend request. I just realized that I want to be healthy and I couldn't do that at my previous weight. Plus my family history includes diabetes and heart disease. I don't want any of that and the only way to ensure that I'm not a victim is to eat right and exercise.0

Your motivation is within yourself. You've started and that is the most difficult part of any weight loss journey. As lbarnett300 said, it is more a matter of changing your mindset from the dreaded "diet and exercise" to "a new lifestyle." Little things will motivate each of us differently.
1) Post up a picture of your smaller self where you will see it multiple times a day. That will be a reminder of where you once were and that you ARE capable of being there again.
2) Give yourself small rewards for achieving small goals, like: staying on track nutrition-wise for one whole week = one desert you wouldn't have otherwise.
3) Personal development books and/or audio. Reading 10 pages per day and/or listening to 15 minutes of audio per day can have profound effects on your outlook. We are all in our cars driving daily for at least 15 minutes. How difficult is it to pop in a CD? I read while I eat breakfast.
4) Commit to a routine. Find a time that works best for you to workout and stick with it. Don't let anything else get in the way of that time. Make it non-negotiable. You wouldn't go a day without eating, so don't miss a workout (one day of rest is necessary).
5) Think twice before putting anything unhealthy in your mouth. Ask yourself if it is going to help you achieve your goal.
6) Make a conscious effort to drink 8-10 (8 oz.) glasses of water per day. The health benefits are endless.
These are just a few tips. They are things I've done that have worked, and I've spoken to countless others who have been successful in their weight loss and they have all done these things, also.
Best of success for you. There is tons of support here as long as you seek it out.0 -
Hello and welcome. Hope I can help out too0

Welcome, Hope I can be of help to you as well. As far as motivation, I just want a healthier lifestyle for my family, so I can be there for them. My 2 yr old daughter is what spurs me to keep up with the "diet" ant to lose the weight. I wanna be around to see all her milestones and to be able to chase her around without feeling tired,0
