Sauna... to sauna or not to sauna

So my gym has a sauna in the girls locker room. I have never been in one before so I stepped in to check it out. It was AWESOME. Its a dry sauna and when I layed down I got the feeling that I look for while laying on a beach. I swear I only tan to feel that TOTAL BODY heat. I can really see myself going to the gym more just to get in a workout and lay in the sauna. But I am wondering what it really does. Does it help ANYTHING? I know I will sweat alot, so there will be some water weight that goes away. But in the same right I understand that I will gain that water weight by just keeping my body hyrated the way it should be.
So basically my question is, Do saunas have give any type of health benefit? Or are they really just there to feel good?

Mental health, lol. At least in my case!! It's my reward for a hard workout
It does help with joint/muscle pain I find... if I go after running, I can gently stretch out the muscles and not be sore later.
Other than that - just enjoy! Remember to shower or towel off afterwards to get rid of the toxins you've sweated out - and please remember to be hygienic in there!! (ie, dont sit bare-bum on the seat - use a towel, etc!).0 -

Yes you will gain the water weight back, but it is good for you as it helps flush toxins from the body.0
