Mornin' y'all.
On my way home from dinner last night, I found myself dreaming about going home and eating some crackers while reading the paper! I didn't know I had it this badly that I would day dream about eating and reading. I've been good this week even though I miss it. I had the crackers anyway (my dessert).
When I got my pedicure yesterday, the ?technician? said, "wow, you've lost a lot of weight." It was lovely. She couldn't believe it was *only* 18 lbs. She earned her tip alright.
Did my hour of elliptical yesterday off to do the 3 hour yoga today.
Ooo, the forecast for Wednesday calls for a high of 93 - yeah! I love watching the forecast in the summer here. It shows all the days and it reads like 100, 101, 100, 99, 98, 101. How do they know that its going to be 101 rather than 99? Is it really going to change anyone's idea of hot? "Oh, we should do that Tuesday instead, it's only going to be 98, not 101 like Monday"
Have a great one!

Today I'm trying Bikram Yoga, which I am excited about, as I'm one of the weirdos that is always cold. Although, probably not in 101, Mary.
Then I have my massage later today, so by 8 pm I should be a complete puddle.
I have to figure out how to turn the "beeper" off on my HRM, as I'm curious to see how much bikram burns compared to other forms. I selfishly hope the "heat factor" adds more calorie burn.
Mary, it is always fabulous when someone tells you you've lost. I bet you're a lot smaller, considering the weight classes, yoga etc. that change the body shape.
It looks like I'll be able to get my last "gold star" and manicure tomorrow. I put a loophole into my self-contract that I could do the planned activities "or something that burns the same calories" (it's actually at the bottom, with a " * " by it, because I am a dork. So, the housework instead of dance class yesterday still counts.
Happy Saturday, all.:flowerforyou:0 -
Good Morning All!
MWD that is SO great! I love unexpected compliments; they are definitely the best incentive there is to keep going.
Vivia -- good luck with the Bikram! I can't wait to hear how many calories it burns.
I'm plowing through my "heavy week" of exercise cycling, but haven't seen any changes on the scale lately (was actually up 1lb).
Yesterday:
~ Burned 900 calories at a combo cardio/ strength workout. Felt great!
~ Kept under my calories, kept them (mostly) healthy. I did have a few marshmallows!
~ Took my vitamins, drank my water
Today:
~ Aiming to burn 750 calories at the gym
~ Going to practice restraint at a family get-together
~ Take my vitamins, drink my water
~ Floss (I know, it has nothing to do with exercise but I'm adding it to my must-do list!)
Enjoy your Saturday!!!!0 -
Great week ladies! I knew you were looking good in those pics Mary!
I've been on a "light' week as you call it WL, I just didn't have energy this week after being so sick last week. I swear the antibiotics mess with me as a whole! I was more conscious about my diet though and haven't gained back what I lost!!!!
WL, can I steal your floss goal? I'm sooooo bad at that. Not to gross you out, but I haven't been to the dentist in 3 years. That's about my rate of going, and last time they told me I had less tartar build-up than patients they see every 6 months! Anyone have positive whitening experiences? I definitely need to get that done before the competition and have no idea of the options... thoughts?0 -
Holy friggin' moley. I have no words.
I just got back from Bikram. I have now developed an immediate and intense love/hate relationship, and bought a "20 visit card" on the spot. I'm aiming for twice a week.
I could literally accomplish only half the standing poses, and spent approximate 40% of the class lying down. I still burned 659 calories. The first five minutes I thought: "hey, this isn't so hard, I am so totally hard-core" then I started to think "hey. . .why is the wall breathing?" My heart rate spiked once at around 170, but other than that stayed in a target zone. I had a mild anxiety issue (read: nearly full blown panic attack) when I realized that once the class starts, you are. . .aggressively encouraged to stay in the room for the entire 90 minutes. (I am pretty claustrophobic, and was already way out of my comfort zone trying a new thing.)
Also, apparently, you are supposed to do Bikram as close to naked as possible. I thought this would be distracting until delirium set in.

Umm Okay. So glad you came back and told us how it went. I was veeeery curious. But. NEEEkid? Neeekid yoga? I am no prude, but I really don't want to be in a room when others are naked or nearly naked doing the poses. Hmmm.
I want to hear how your other visits go. Please keep us posted. Do the walls stop breathing after visit two? My husband is native and does sweats with his father (they encourage me, but I have asthma so no way), and he has had some "wall breathing" experiences, but I am not sure I could hack this on a routine basis.
Thanks for sharing. Tell us more! When you go again, give an update!0
