i've heard about negative calories, but i guess i didn't really think about it until recently. most of what i have read is the high protein/low fat and high fiber foods can use quite a few calories during digestion. is this something i should be taking into consideration during my food inputs? i don't eat a whole lot of protein, but i average around 35g of fiber/day by eating lots of fruits, veg and whole grains. plus...some extra calories = a little more chocolate! or is this wishful thinking?

Nope. Just log the calories you eat. Don't over-think it!
  • I think the problem with negative calorie foods is that digestion is really counted in your BMR, is it not? I think you'd be double-counting calories burned if you took it into effect.
