I'm not gonna try & beat my last 10k time, I just want to finish it in a respectable time tomorrow. I'm nervous! :embarassed:

When I first started running I could seriously only run 4 house lengths before I had to walk. You'll work up to it! :flowerforyou:

I ran 6.2 this morning, :drinker: :drinker: Yipee!!

took longer than I thought so I didn't get my 7 in but I am very happy with 6!

I am still very sore from Body Pump - must have really worked it Thursday nite and didn't realize it, I am not usually this sore after that class.

Hope you all have great runs today! Happy Saturday!

You can do it Shannon!!! I can't wait to hear all about it...

I'll know for sure on Monday (that's when the results will be posted) but I think I finished in about 30 minutes. My old 5K pr was 31:06. I prefer distance running. I am just getting warmed up at the end of a 5K.

Good for you! It took me 4 months to run 20 minutes without stopping. Trust me. It keeps getting easier. Keep it up. I am proud of you.

Good for you Tricia! You ROCK. I am going to nickname you iron woman. My running partner does that body pump class. It sounds brutal!

    Hello,

I got my 5 miles in today, felt like I could keep going but had to come home to take girls to gymnastics (I slept in a little).

    Have a great day!

    Hi!
I just got back from running 12 miles. My legs are tired, but I feel really great. I'm totally ready for my half-marathon at the end of July. I just have to keep it up now, and maybe work on trying to go a little faster. (I kept an 11 minute mile pace again today for my 12 miles.)
Happy running everyone! Great job on your 5k Kechie, and good luck tomorrow Shannon! I know you'll do great. My daughter took her dog to an 8k race today called the Mt. Tabor Doggie Challenge. It sounded like fun, but my dog can't go that far any more.:flowerforyou:

Great Job Kechie and everyone else.

Think I over did it my first week back after the ok from foot doctor so I am taking it slower this week, only 2.5 miles in 30 minutes. But for those of you just starting out it takes steps to get to Kechie and others like her. I do interval training still so part of my run in fast walking and I am up to about 7 minutes solid running but depending on the day that 7 minutes could be 5mph or 7mph. Just listen to your body and when you are feeling amped and ready to go push it a little further!

Soooooo...was reading the info packet for the run tomorrow, and it stated to add 30-40 seconds PER MILE(!) for high altitude runs. :noway:

What the heck was I thinking???

Hi everyone. I feel honored to be blogging with you. I am still just starting out but went my farthest today - 4 miles jog/walk. This time more jog than walk. We are training for a 10K in September. I am really excited because I was told at one time I could never run again and here I am!

How did you all get started running? :flowerforyou:

Way to go bunnyr--it sounds like you are really overcoming your struggles.
I didn't start with running myself. A couple of years ago my daughter asked me to train to walk a marathon with her. I didn't really believe I could do it, but with her help and encouragement, we did. Then because of that I started to believe I could do more, so I started working on running instead of just walking, and now I'm training to run a half-marathon. Good luck with your running, and welcome to the group!:flowerforyou:
