I use a Polar FT7 HRM. Couldn't live without it but it is very frustrating when it drops my HR during exercise. I have recently discovered that if I REALLY massage and scrub the receiver areas of the strap under running warm/hot water is has been working great! I do this to clean after use and to set it up for use. The manufacturer recommends washing the strap once a week in the washing machine but even this was not working for me. I hope this helps any of you who are having similar problems! :flowerforyou:

  • Try using KY Jelly on the sensors. I know that helps with the readings.

Thanks!! It dropped my heart rate when my husband and I were shoveling snow yesterday and when it came back on it had my heart rate @ 201!!! I didn't feel winded but with all of thoses "heart attack while you shovel snow" warnings, I took a 5 minute break just in case and resumed and it was posting at around 120 which seemed more like it.

I also wonder if it kept dropping (and misreading) because I had so many layers of clothes on?
