Morning, all!

So, today is dance class, and I'll probably walk there and back (or at least one of those two. )

Happy Sunday, everybody!:flowerforyou:

My goals for the day:

Drink more water. (even when I thought I was hydrated, the extra sweating lately gave me a headache last night)
Take my vits.
Not be too self-critical in dance class (hey, I signed up for it "for fun").

So no soreness from Bikram? Heard your review. How is it different that you are burning so many more calories?

Yesterday I got through my three yoga classes and did a 10 minute warm up on the elliptical so I wouldn't be sleepy though the first class. It worked well. Someone even asked when I was teaching next, which is always a great compliment. I couldn't remember though. Also went to a dance practice, which I didn't have a good time. Luckily, we'll be out-of-town next weekend, so I won't have to go then - lessons on Tuesday though.

This is my last easy day, I guess WL and I are switched on our weeks. Today, if I don't get too hot, I'll walk a bunch, otherwise, it's off to the gym.

    Happy Father's Day!

    Good Morning!

Vivia -- loved the report on Bikram. That is amazing that you burned so many calories! I've only done it once, in NYC, and it was the only time that I have ever really thought that I would die (or barf) during a class. I have to say though that I felt INCREDIBLE afterwards.

Yes, MWD, we are swapped on weeks, so next week is easy week for me. I am UP 2lbs though!!! Ugh. Not sure what is going on. I had two days this week of overindulging, despite burning between 750-900 calories on the other days. I wonder if that makes it worse for the splurge days..?

Anyway, just got back from gym and my secret crush was there. I did the elliptical next to him but I was sweating so much...this is why I refuse to date anyone from the gym. I just do NOT want to have to worry about looking good when I'm there!

    Today, burned 900 calories:
    ~ 8 minute cardio warmup
    ~ 30 minutes weights -- legs/ butt
    ~ 45 minutes elliptical
    ~ Take my vitamins
~ Keep my calories light and healthy, especially after yesterday

Yesterday -- did nothing, unless running after my 3-year-old nephew counts as exercise!

I'm still trying to figure out why it burns so much more, and it just simply must be the heat. Although, I'm very confused as to how just being hot would raise my heart rate, but it did. It was a pretty dynamic "flow" moving from pose to pose, but no more dynamic than other (non-calorie torching classes) I will say that I slept like a little baby last night. Best sleep I've had in months. They say on their website that you can burn up to a 1000 calories in a class, which I thought was total bunk, but maybe not.

I'm not sore from it, but remember, I spent a healthy percentage of the class lying down, repeating the mantra: "you're fine. don't barf. you're fine. don't barf. you're fine. . ." I am wondering how much of that was the heat, and how much of that was the anxiety. I'm going again Tuesday, so I'll report in again.

I weighed myself Friday, and I'm up (five pounds, which I'm taking very, very seriously) So, I reduced my daily calories, and I'm going to try to hit the exercise extra hard these next couple of weeks. I feel "squishy", like the five pounds just draped itself over my whole body like some sort of jumpsuit.:flowerforyou:

Hang in there Viva! :flowerforyou: Breathing walls? I wanna try that but don't think I'm nearly that crazy. The heat makes the body work in very different ways. Think of how much weight you lose when you are running a fever!

WL, you're turning into quite the flirt! I wish I could be your sidekick to see all these cute boys!

We took daddy to a baseball game today. I splurged & shared the french fries. I am heading to my national convention for athletic training in St.Louis this week and will be eating light (tight budget so I'm living off tuna and peanut butter& jelly sandwiches). The alumni dinners will be the challenge. Good thing I don't drink! For a bunch of health care professionals, I've never seen more people at morning sessions with hang-overs than at the convention!

Here's to a great week ahead! Keep it up :drinker:
