Ok, today we are going to an end of the year potluck with some teacher friends. I am roasting 3 chickens for the event. Now I am wondering if I can possibly roast 3 at one time in my own oven and how long that would take. They will all fit, I checked, but I know it'll take about 2 1/2 hours to roast just one so will I have to multiply that by 3? I just have to make sure they are cooked in time... any help appreciated, thanks!

  • will they be in the same dish?
  • well, the heat needs to penetrte the meat, if they are in the same dish this will take longer.

However the is only so much energy the oven can deliver so if yu have 3 birds in seperate dishes in the over you will have to cook them slightly longer. Anouther 30 minutes say.

Don't forget tho that a brid is cooked when the joints freelty come apart.

    Hope that helps

no they wouldn't be in the same dish, bit I probably could fit 3 in one dish. so you think maybe 3-3.5 hours for the 3 of them then? Thats sounds good, I jsut dont really want to do them at the school (in the homeec room, lol, because I'd have to sit there waiting for them to cook for 2 hours. thanks I will put them in earlier then!
