Just say i was going to have 100g of moroccan cous cous salad or moroccan rice salad
Which would have less calories?
Please provide nutritional info if possible :)

Just by looking at the comparison of calories between rice and couscous, it looks like couscous would be the better option if all the other ingredients were the same.

    From nutritiondata.self.com (http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/cereal-grains-and-pasta/5698/2)

    1 ounce (28 g) uncooked coucous = 105 calories
    1 ounce (28 g) uncooked white rice = 104 calories

So, you know, it's a tossup.

    Hi,
Welcome to MFP! It may take awhile to get familiar with how to use all the tools. If you're making the salad you can use the recipe tool under the food tab to figure out all the nutritionals on what you made. If you're trying to just decide whether to use cous cous or rice you can enter one than the other in the data base. I did a quick look and cous cous was 220 cals for 1 cup and cooked white rice was 247 for a cup.

Personally, I'd use whole wheat cous cous or whole grain brown rice. The usual versions of cous cous and rice are refined and void of significant nutritional value. Refined carbs are not your friends!

    good luck and happy eating!
