Treadmill Purchase- Belt Width

I'm considering buying a treadmill and wonder if 18" is pretty standard and a decent size width for the belt? I notice most lower-dollar models have 14-16" wide belts.

Your opinions are appreciated. :flowerforyou:

Great question! I will ask the gym next time I am there... I love their treadmills!

places like sports authority and sears usually have them set up on the sales floor and encourage customers to give them a try. you could go to a place like that to see which width "feels" best??

I greatly prefer wider belts. I have a thinner treadmill at home that I don't like using so I go to the gym. That way they can store and maintain it. The wider belt treadmills probably cost a lot more though. :(
