Hi, I'm new to the board, and have a question about the starvation mode. What is it, and how do I avoid it? How close do I have to be to my daily goal of 1890 cal. to avoid going into it?
thanks
thanks

I'm new, too, but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to eat almost all of the alloted calories you have for that day. Every human body's metabolism is different. I go under by about 80 calories per day but I'm sure that's not enough to send my body into a tailspin. If you were to go under more than 200 calories per day AND you were exercising a lot, I'm certain your body would try to stop you from losing weight. I'm still trying to figure out if you're supposed to eat back the "net" calories you have once you've worked out and burned some calories. Just try your best, eat healthy, eat enough, and exercise.0

Thanks! I'm doing okay, but the last couple of days have been harder...the super bowl didn't help. Made my goal both days but it was a struggle not to keep eating, especially because there was a lot of food around on Sunday, and Monday was a very stressful day at work. Consequently, Im nowhere near starvation mode anymore! Just plugging away at meeting the daily goals. Ive been surprised at how helpful the site is. It sure is easy listing the stuff I eat.....Hope you're doing well, too.0
