Hi All, I'm in Wales UK and i'm heading to New York for a week during August, what shall I get up too?
Are there 'must see's' you can recommend?
Whats the clubing scene like there?

I live in Northern NJ...about 20-30min outside of the city
I grew up about 5 minutes from the city and spent lots of weekends in the clubs/bars
BUT, I'm an old hag now (35..LOl) with 2 kids...so it's been a while...hopefully someone else could chime in with recs..
OMG..where to begin..so much to do...the Village, Midtown or Time Square...catch a play....South Street Seaport...so many museums to check out...
Might also want to catch a ferry and see the Statue of Liberty
DH works in the city and is much more familiar with it than I am....let me know if u have any questions

I was from there before Florida - there's so much to see - Stop by ground zero it's very sad -
I was there in 20050 -
I'm SO jealous!
My daughter and I went for the first time last spring. I loved EVERYTHING.
The Lion King was my favorite.
Be sure you PLAN your daily activities or you'll be too overwhelmed to see a lot.0 -

You should def catch a play/musical ... or a concert! I love going down to the city! I will usually just go walk around and talk with friends and meet new people. Of course, there are the touristy things to do. But I'd have to say my fav thing to do down there is go to a concert and meet some new people.
Just watch out for the creepy subway riders!0 -

I suggest going to broadway and catching a play, and go to some of the museums, they are great.
Other than that, NY is one of THE club/bar scenes. I don't have any recommendations, but Im sure you won't have too much trouble.0 -

OOOH I was born there! Its a great place to visit (if you have money!) Now I live in boring Florida. But the clubs are great! The food is awesome! (must try the hot dogs... they may look bad, but taste great)
I wish I could take a visit, but I have School:ohwell:
But yeah visit Ellis Island, Empire State, Central Park, Ground Zero,Time Square, Canal Street (if you like to shop), eat some pizza and zeppolies(if thats how you spell that) try an icee from a street vendor.
New York may be dirty (depending on the city) but to me its awesome.

Al- do you want to PM your e-mail address? I have a 7 page guide that a few friends and I have painstakingly compiled of all of our fav places to eat and things to do. I'd be more than happy to send it to you, if you'd like it. NY is an amazing city and it's always a great time. I hope you have lots of fun.
