Let me also say...
There are some points about the diet that I agree with and others not so much. Any feedback would be awesome!0 -
I have a friend in her 50's who is on this diet-she says she feels GREAT on it so she keeps doing it.0

There does seem to be some validity to it, but I doubt that there is enough known about what it is based on to make it 100%0

In General, eliminating any food groups from your diet is a no no unless you are doing so because you have allergies.
The best method of "diet" is eating clean, non- processed foods.
I don't know where you live, but the guidelines set out by health Canada on the four food groups is pretty accurate as far as food you should be consuming & portion size. If you are eating anything similar to that, you will be healthy & fit!0 -

I agree with her ^! Eliminating things will only last for so long...once you go back to eating the way you do BOOM you put on 10lbs in a month! It's best just to do it the healthy way0 -
I would be cautious to be honest.
I am a biochemist/molecular biologist and a quick search through pubmed/medline shows me no published scientific evidence that would say that the ABO proteins expressed on the surface of your red blood cells can influence your dietary needs. You will of course find many many hundreds of peer-reviewed articles on calorie-counting and exercise as a means to control weight.0 -
I read the book, but when it got to the "eat this if your blood type is" portion, I had some problems, since I don't like many of the foods listed as right for my type. Coffee is apparently indicated for my blood type (whew), but I knew I'd have a difficult time with the plan as laid out in the book because it meant such a sharp change from my eating habits. Whole grain is fine, but adding sea vegetables was definitely out for me.0

I completely agree, this diet doesn't seem to have any factual basis that I can find.0 -
My mother-in-law does the blood type diet and it has helped her lower doses on medication she takes and even has been able to completly get off of others. I am an O and there are things that I should stay away from but love so I haven't comited to it yet but probably will as I get older. It's definently worth a try!!0

Thanks everyone! I LOVE this website for reasons like this! I really enjoy reading everyone's feedback and opinions. Cutting anything out of my diet, just isn't going to happen!! It's not realistic if you ask me.0
