Women: menstrual like cramps after intense workout?

I experienced the same thing last summer when I was doing intensive cardio. The past couple days I've burned 800-1000 calories each day doing cardio and some minor weight training. I have not done any type of sit ups or crunches. I didn't work out today. This afternoon I started getting menstrual type cramps. I'm not near my cycle or pregnant. Is it just another way my body is responding to change? Anyone else experience this? The cramps aren't major but they are menstrual cramps for sure, not stomach. Any doctors or trainers out there who can help answer this one?

thanks

I have the same thing!!! I thought it was just me because I just started the Depo shot almost 6 months ago (so my cycles are all out of whack).

I get them sometimes when I run on the treadmill. However, I just "walk it off" and get back into running and I am usually fine.
  • Yeah, they go away. It doesn't stop my day or anything. My obgyn thinks I might have endometriosis (sp?) so maybe it acts up when I physically push myself.
