Off to a good start

I started My Fitness Pal a week ago, after my husband was diagnosed with type-2 diabetes. He has a similar program on his Blackberry, and I use this on both the computer & my iTouch. I love being more aware of what I'm eating and have so far kept my calories under the goal set for me. (Not as good with the exercising, but I'm aiming for 2-3 days a week.) I want to lose a lot of weight--at least 50-60 lbs--and even then I'll still be termed "overweight." (I think the standards for BMI are off anyway.) Am looking forward to not being ashamed of how I look, though, and I don't mind if it takes me a while to do it. I know it's more likely to stay off that way!

    Hi there! I'm brand new to this site and am at the start of my diet and exercise plan. My goals are similar to yours I think (exercising 2-3 days a week, though I want to lose 70lbs to put me just inside the healthy range for my BMI) and hopefully my first week will be as succesful as yours sounds!
