NSV! I conquered my gym Nemesis!

I am SO proud of myself today! Had a really good gym work out - started with a light walk warm up and then did some strength training on the weights... Same as usual...

Then (as it was quiet) I decided that I should try and tackle my nemesis - the darn elliptical/cross trainer... I've been going to the gym for about 4 or 5 months, on and off, and have never managed more than 2 minutes on the bloomin thing before I'm wailing and my knees want to give out...

Today I did TEN MINUTES! Yup 10 MINUTES! Now this may not seem like a lot to you people who will stay on the cross trainer until you are one with the machine - but to me that's an AWESOME achievement!

And then I did 10 minutes on the bike....

I FOUND MY GYM BUZZ! I'd lost it for a while over christmas but it's back with a vengeance!

So HA to you my Nemesis! I'm gonna break you - 10 minutes at a time!

    I wish i had the guts to actually join a gym! I would probably last for 2 mins if im very very lucky!!

    That's awesome. I'm so proud of you. I hate the elliptical. I look at it and go the other direction. :)

    thats awesome!!!! i rememeber when i could barely do ten minutes, and i was dying, now i can do 40!! im sure you'll get there to just keep at it!!! (i still super suck at even just walking on the tread mill, one mile,20 minutes and im dead,like dead)

    Well done.

    I feel exactly the same about the rowing machine. Been going over a year and still wont spend longer than 5 minutes on it.

    You did great and you should feel very proud.
  • Wow thats great!! I so look forward to getting that gym membership. I have to do this for myself. I think u r awesome. Just getting on that eliptical even though u know you couldnt stand it says a lot about u as a person. Keep it up!!
  • That's fantastic...well done you!!! You have such a great attitude!
    We tend to do lots of the exercises we find easy and not so much of the stuff we find difficult.....when in actual fact these are the areas which are obviously the weakest and therefore need more work! You should be very proud of yourself.

    I can easily do well over an hour on the exercise bike even at level 4 or 5 resistance BUT I can only manage 5 minutes on the cross trainer! Next time i go to the gym i'm going to put in that extra effort and try for 10 minutes.....you've inspired me!

    I love the cross trainer! I have one at home but its crap compared to the proper gym machines. I stopped going to the gym though because all I wanted to do was go on the cross trainer and its so busy at the gym I went to they limited how long you could use it.
