Am I the only one that sucks at the whole restriction thing? Did everybody just hop on the health wagon and never fall off? I am on day 4 and BAM twizzlers at the check out line called my name, and then some M& M's at home and then a strawberry sunday from zesto. All in one day! My husband is deployed, and I moved home, so when I move back I won't have the M&M problem or the strawberry sunday problem (I really don't like chocolate, or white ice cream), but it's still frustrating that I don't have any will power!! I did manage the gym, but I'm still and a HUGE amount over.

I have a serious sweet tooth as well. Buy yourself some of the 100 calorie snack packs and keep them with you at all times! When you get a craving, allow yourself 1 packet, and then drink 16 ounces of water, and call it good. I think the sweets addiction is the hardest food addiction. It's the sugar/brain thing. And if it's chocolate you are addicted to, there is even more science behind THAT addiction being hard to break. I broke that one, and I broke the mocha espresso habit after I did that. Good luck. You will get stronger. When you see those pounds start to fall off, it will encourage you. I am half way to my goal, and I KNOW how hard it can be. Besides, I got to watch my husband work half as hard and lose nearly twice as much. No one EVER says, " Wow, you have lost a bunch of weight" to me, but he gets at least one a day. Do it for yourself. Reward your strength with a more healthy YOU!

ooh I am a chocoholic! I try to find ways to have some chocolate without blowing it. Basically it's about learning to have everything in moderation... I'm not giving up chocolate, that's for sure! haha:flowerforyou: it does get easier but it's still hard for me sometimes!

I broke down and had a brownie.. delish, I choose a small piece (half size) savored it and now.. moving on. It is okay to have weak moments; you will get stronger and fight the temptations-trust yourself.

(I used to be a twizzler junky!! but now.. not so much, really it is like chewing flavored plastic.) Oh - but I still like my chocolate (hence brownie!)

So hope that helps.. you're normal.

    oh yes! lol

I actually did really well for awhile...no cheating...then right around the ah time of the month for us gals, I kept thinking about chocolate milk shakes, pizza, chips....the list was long....so I tried to stay away and lets just say because I didn't give in to the cravings, it got a little ugly one night LMBO....

What I do now is if I really want something...and not just bored or upset (other issues why I will want food I'm realizing lol) I'll have a small amount of the food I'm craving...it usually works and doesn't make me feel like I've thrown in the towel...ya know!

and big hugs to you honey, having hubby deployed I'm sure is very hard on you...and him...thank you both btw...and good luck at being home w/ family...I hope it helps too!

Thanks for all the insight. It's almost frustrating to read all the "I lost ___" when I just got done eating a bag of twizzlers :( I went for a 2 hour bike ride today, to make up some of the difference from yesterday, I was riding with a friend and lost track of time and then we had to still ride back, I made it though :) I am MORE then ready to be out of my parents house though. That will be a huge weight off my back when I'm not being treated like I'm 12!!

Everybody struggles! YOU CAN DO It!

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time...
How do you change your health? One bite at a time!

    I started with tiny goals...

    Week 1. Drink more water.
Week 2. Drink more water, eat healthier.
Week 3. All the above, use correct proportions.
Week 4. All the above, weigh food for accuracy.
Week 5. All the above, lesson breads.

And so on...I guess you get it now, right? LOL I just had to start by changing things up slowly...Good luck!

Who says we never fall off?????????????? We all do, we are all human!!!!!! When people see me eating cake or something like that they say "I thought you were on a diet" And I tell them, " I am not on a diet. I eat healthy most of the time and the not so healthy foods and drinks I consume in moderation". Diets are just temporary and they don't work... Good luck to you!!!! :flowerforyou:
