Too Much Fiber?

MFP says that my daily fiber intake goal should be 14 grams. Are there any problems with consuming more than that? I am a big fan of the Fiber Plus bars which run at only 120 calories and have 9 grams of fiber which really fills me up and curbs my hunger. If I throw a salad on top of that for lunch I am usually at or past my fiber limit.

The fiber goal on here is way too low. Women should have 24 -25g a day, and men about 30g.0

I too like to eat things that contain a lot of fiber, my favorite being Kashi Go Lean ceral haha. Like Snerk said above, the average for most people is 25-30 grams a day. With that said, fiber is one of those things that has numerous positive effects on the body such as helping to lower your chances of getting certain diseases, help relieving constipation, and the most important one, weight loss. With weight loss, they say you want to try and choose foods naturually high in fiber. Boo fake fiber, HOORAY real fiber!
Putting all that aside, your body will let you know when you have had too much fiber. Like they say with everything else in this world, moderation is key and balance is the word of the day. Stay within those limits and I'm sure you'll be fine0 -
My daily minimum goal for fiber is 30 grams per day. I try to get it much higher, via fruits and veggies and good carbs. You can check out my food diary to see how I get there ... (just ignore today which I spent in airports and on aircraft and yesterday ... Superbowl Sunday!)
The only warning I'd add is that a person who doesn't consume much fiber should ease into it or you may experience some discomfort and unpleasant side effects by jumping in all at once!0
