In 1999, I reached my highest weight ever.. 205 at 5ft3.
I lost 75 pounds through diet and exercise and maintained that weight loss for nearly 2 years until I got pregnant in 2001.
Since that time, I have gained and lost the the same 20-30 pounds yearly (never being
higher than the low 160's).
I currently weigh 136.8 and this time I began Jan 1 at 152.
I am aiming to weigh 126, which would be my lowest weight since I was 13.

I would really like some help with how I can prevent this from happening yet again.
I never go back to horrible eating habits, but I do loosen up.
I do not want to give up and just think my body is happy at 150.. because I am NOT!

Thank you!

Is there something that triggers you to stop thinking about it and start gaining?
  • Ms. Mommy,

Dr. Oz just had on today a hypnotist who swears that this type of malady helps with people to lose weight and keep it off. I would suggest visit Oz's site and watch the video it has 4 parts. It was very interesting and I'm gonna try it. We have a hypnotist here where I live and I think it's time I try something else. I've been thru Cellular repattering, Nuero Emotional Technique, muscle testing and accupuncture. It all tempoarily helped but I'm an emotional eater so I need to erase that part of my brain and stop the insanity. Good Luck.

100 calories a day is 10 lbs a year. 200 calories a day is 20 lbs a year. It's so easy to eat an extra couple hundred calories every day without realizing it. The pounds slowly creep back on. The answer for me is My Fitness Pal - for life! I believe that for me to keep the weight off, I will have to track calorie intake for life. But, MFP makes it so easy that I don't see it as a burden at all.

I'm probably not much help, but I can certainly relate! It's definitely psychological with me. I'll be interested to see what others say!

I usually get to a weight I feel good at and then loosen up on counting..eat out more, etc.
I may have just answered my own question..
I need to keep counting and stay on MFP even to maintain.
    :)
I find that the older I get (I am 40).. the gained weight gets harder and harder to lose.
