weighted hula hoop

I have a 5lb weighted hula hoop that I like to use as part of my workout- but, how do you calculate the calories? The only thing I found under cardio was for the WII hula hoop and I don't have a WII.

Suggestions?

Thanks

  • I have a 3 lb. hula hoop and I used my Heart Rate Moniter which said in 10 minutes I burned about 50 calories. But I know yours is heavier and it varies for each person/body type

I have a weighted hula hoop as well and the closest thing I could match it to was the wii hoop and I don't have wii either. I think the main thing is to exercise, eat well and track to the best of your ability without focusing too much on the exact calories burned. I find many people are obsessed with the calories they are burning ( and I have been guilty of that as well) but the important thing is you are exercising and that is what counts. Sometimes this site doesn't measure the calories burned completely accurately but it is a good tool to use to stay motivated :)

I don't know where other people got theirs but I ordered mine from the Shopping Chanel. I have only seen them online. You can google weighted hula hoops or look up Hoopnotica which is brand. They are fun and its a good workout too!
