ugh has anyone ever had sprinkles cupcakes? Especially the red velvet flavor... Ugh it's freaking amazing! It's my friends birthday today and I come home and there chocolate mocha cake (yum!) and sprinkles cupcakes...I had to take a little little piece of the cake and like one small nip of the cupcake! I had to and I know its ok on my calorie count because I was below anyway and all I had was soup today because I'm feeling a little itchy in the throat. Anyway now I can't stop thinking about the sweetness! Ugh I need to just go to bed and completely ignore the kitchen when I leave in the morning or something! Oh no...I don't want to cave!

Go to google and search for extremely obese people. find the biggest person you can, and on paint put your head on top of the body and put a red velvet cupcake in its hand and save it as your background
but in complete seriousness, If you have a severe craving, go to sleep and tomorrow if you're still craving it, eat one. If you tell yourself you cant have something then you're gonna crave it more and more, and you'll eat other bad things to get around it.0 -
Uh oh! I fell into that temptation today and feel absolutely horrible about it! I can usually get past by either remembering how I felt the last time I caved in or become preoccupied in something else. Drinking a tall glass of water helps me too. As far as motivation goes... are the sweets honestly worth it? I agree with having a taste, but it is hard to keep it at that!0

I think this is one of the biggest temptations we all face. We feel like if we have that one indulgent item that all is lost and it's the end of our dieting and the world will end! Dramatic, I know, but true! This is not about the one craving that you are overcoming....this is about changing your life! This is changing your eating habits, and changing the way you view food. I know it, because I am right there with you.
The thing to remember, is that eating healthy and losing weight doesn't mean cutting every type of food you love out of your life forever...that is not practical and that is a quick way to sabotage yourself. What you need to do is decide a few things.....
1) Do you really want that item
2) How many calories are in that item and do you have them available in your daily goal
3) Is there an alternative item that can substitute that is close and maybe healthier (I enjoy 100 cal packages of Cocoa Roast Almonds when I have a chocolate craving...that fixes it)
4) Is eating that item worth the extra exercise you will need to do to make up for that item if you don't have the available calories
When I can answer those questions....and I am willing to do the work to enjoy that item....then I eat it. But, the process of going through these questions when I am faced with that slice of NY Cheesecake usually dissuades me from eating it! (Like tonight!)But, then again....I have eaten 2 (very small) pieces of birthday cake at 2 different parties in the past 5 weeks....and after going through these questions....I was fine with my choice, because it fit in with my diet and exercise that day. Or I made it fit by doing a little extra at the gym that night.
Most importantly....this has helped me to not feel like I am "Missing" anything. I have actually felt like this has been almost easy to stick with as long as I use these ideas every day.
I don't know if this will help you or not....but I hope it does! Good luck with your battle with the cupcakes....I definitely have been there!0 -
Thanks everyone! I did go..last night I just went to bed and this morning I read all your posts as I was staring at the sweets. Yesterday wasn't a gym day for me because I had work and class until 9:30, but today is and depending on how my day goes with food and the gym maybe I will treat myself to half a cupcake!0
