Who's done with the winter blahs!!

So, I realized today, I've been slowly throwing away all the hard work I've put in over the last year. I've let the winter blahs, schedule issues, and a minor injury completely get me off track. :grumble: Well, I'm done. If I would have started this journey with this half hearted attitude, I never would have lost any weight!

Today I am renewing my dedication to myself. :flowerforyou: I love the way exercising makes me feel. I know eatting healthy has huge benefits in terms of how I fit in my jeans and how I feel. So, here's a short list of my new committment to myself:

1. No more candy, not at work and not at home....It does nothing for me except make me sluggish, it is not my friend!
2. No eatting after 8:30pm, I have willpower, it just seems lately I forgotten to use it...Well as of today it's back!
3. At least 3 workouts a week (2 during the week and one on weekends)
4. Up my Protein and Water consumption and lower my sodium.
5. Be prepared (for me this means getting to the grocery store with a list of healthy food for meals and snacks every week)

Those are the 5 big ways I can give back to myself. What are your doing to shake your winter rut/gut/butt:wink: ??

You are truly an inspiration. I get Winter Blahs every year. My weakness is carbs. I get in so deep that I actually watch the world around me move. It is just something that happens (for me) as soon as the gloomy gray days come. But I do feel better about moving on and out of them after reading your post! Best of luck to you!

Winter blahs are nasty.... the worse is getting out of bed in the morning (particularly Saturday and Sundays, when you could sleep in) and head over to the gym. I usually have to reward myself with something to get myself there, and sometimes even a reward isn't enough.:-P

Right now I'm trying to beat the blahs by taking Zumba at my school district. It's right after the kids dismiss, so I can take it before I slow down at the end ofthe day. I also bought a body fat analyzer and plan on using that once a week, which motivates me to lift weights more often. I want more lean muscle mass!!:-D

I've been also beating the eating blahs by trying out new recipes. I usually aim for one or two a week. If it meets my fiance and I's approval, it goes in our cookbook Word file for use later.

I can totally relate to this! I was stuck in my house all day yesterday due to a huge winter storm that rolled in...now if that doesn't kill your motivation I don't know what will!

I try to use the winter to my advantage though and get out to the skihill every other weekend, that always burns a lot of calories in a day! But other than that I really lack the motivation, however reading this post really helped me today, today is a new day :flowerforyou:

We had a nasty winter storm last week. Hopefully you have a good dvd to help you work it out. I love the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. $9 at Target. I just need to start using it again! If only it was on an automatic timer that just started and called my name until I started working out!!
