It's time for me

Decided that TODAY is the day to start doing something for ME. I have lost and gained the same 50 pounds over and over and over again. Each time I lose it I vow NEVER to get there again...well here I am again +10 more. Not sure how I got here, where the apathy came from, but realize I need to stop. At age 50 the pounds don't come off as easily as I would like but I think (hope) that I am ready. I am a Nurse Practitioner, I should know better right!? I sometimes feel that I am alone in my journey, but am happy to have found this site with folks who support each other! Lets keep each other motivated

Hi. I know how you feel. I am trying to get 30 pounds off. I have gained it since we accepted guardianship of our grandkids and I haven't gone to the gym since. I recently decided to start going back to the gym and my husband and grandkids can pitch in a little. To my surprise, they are supportive!!! Especially the grandkids that are now teenagers. I hope you are getting support from your family.0

My family is extremely supportive! Need to find time for the gym though. I am working 34 hour a week and hoping to get back into an exercise program. Have done Curves in the past, might be a good starting point again. I think I'll look into it! Thanks for the good thoughts!0

You are not on this journey alone. We are all here to support one another. If you ever need an ear just give a yell.

I'm 50 and go to the gym with my sister that is 6 years older than me. When we don't make it to the gym, I do Wii Fit Plus. I love it!! Also Netflix has a great Pilates workout video. They also have other workout videos, but I found that Pilates is what makes my body hurt the most - so in my mind it does the most good. It is so much harder to lose weight the older I get. I'm hoping to find something that works for me.0

Awesome, it is good to see more people work on trying to get the yo-yo-ing under control.0
