Excessive skin

Hello guys,

How is the weight loss going?

I have a question for people who have gone through a dramatic weight loss. 3 years ago I was about 220 pounds. Through a few changes in my diet I got down to 185 pounds in 9 months. The weight loss was quick but not too fast so I had no excessive skin issues at the time. I hit a plato after those nine months and I pretty much stayed at the same wait up until mid October 2010. That's when I joined this website. Around the same time I also met a new friend of mine who were able to go from 278 pounds to 176 in 15 months. He told me about the 1200 calories a day diet that he used to loss the weight and I pretty much did the same thing. From then til now I've lost around 34 pounds. Since the weight loss this time was faster than what happened to me 3 years ago I now have excessive skin. I guess the skin couldn't shrink as fast as I was loosing weight.

So here is the question. How do you guys deal with excessive skin? Is there something you could do to make it shrink faster?

Thanks

It takes time--I am still waiting but I have heard you rub some lotion with vitamin E on your skin to help, but it should get a little better in time.

It does take time. I have some loose skin from my pregnancies on my belly. When I lost the extra weight, it seemed more loose. I am now doing strength training and using a skin firming lotion on my belly. It's not perfect but it's getting better.
  • Awesome guys, Thanks a lot.

Is there any specific skin firming lotions that you'd recommend?

    Thanks again.

I was wondering the same thing.

The vitamin E lotion should be really good but right now I'm using up massive supplies of lotion that I keep getting every year for Christmas.
