New to My Fitness Pal

Found this site when looking for an alternative to FitDay. I like FitDay but I like My Fitness Pal even better! I am a Stay at Home mom plus a freelance website developer. I've been heavy all my life but not quite as overweight as now. My highest weight was 244 and so far I've lost about 35 pounds. Although I gained some over the holidays but I'm refusing to accept that as my current weight (even though it's in my signature ;-) I'm still heavy but I'm attempting Couch to 5K. It's hard but hopefully one day it will get easier. I struggle with food daily. Can't seem to stop eating the junk food. My mom wasn't a great cook so we grew up on mac and cheese and other boxed food. Of course because of that I can't cook either. I'm hoping to find some easy/healthy recipes that will help me stay on track.

Try making one new recipe a week and I bet you'll learn to cook in no time. You have to have some flops to learn.0

you are welcome to add me to your friends list and check out my diary to see if there is anything in there that might help you change your lifestyle. Remember, THIS IS NOT A DIET!!!!! Diets never work. Lifestyle changes do. I'll be here for you if you should need me. Welcome to the family.0

Hi and welcome! This is a GREAT place to be. I wasnot a great cook either and my son had most likely the meals that you had. But let me tell you that he is one of the best and healtiest cooks around. I just did not like to cook because I was ALWAYS on a diet. I thought and still fight with the thought that food is bad for you! Anyway, i hope that you like it here. The support, motivation and inspiration is unbelieveable!!!! Best of wishes to you on your new journey!0
