Looking to lose the 'love handles' and tone up

Hey everyone,
I'm 28 and got married not too long ago. After the wedding, I basically stopped working out and started to eat more bad food. Also, beer was not a drink I had too often but lately it seems like I've been having more beer frequently. I don't get drunk or anything off beer but before I wasn't much of a drinker at all. Moderation is key so I've been trying to cut back on the beer drinking and just enjoy a nice beer once in a while when I go out.
The main reason why I want to shape up is for health reasons of course. Another is so my wife will find me more appealing. I also find it a lot easier to fall asleep when I exercise regularly and seem to be in a better mood overall throughout the day.
I am a regular coffee drinker (usually just one cup a day) but now that I exercise regularly, I don't find it necessary to drink a cup of coffee each day.
What I seem to find challenging is finding motivation to exercise. I'm new to the area in which I live and have left all my friends and family behind due to work. I haven't built friendships yet here where I can ask a buddy if they want to workout together. There is my wife but our work schedules make it difficult for us to workout together. Also, when we do manage to go to the gym together, we typically do very different kinds of exercises.
Does anyone out there have any suggestions to help keep motivated and workout consistently throughout the week? I do take my phone when I exercise and listen to music with it and the news so that helps some. I feel though that I will need more motivation to keep this going. Feedback will be greatly appreciated
