Hi All

So I weighed this morning and have lost 36.6 lbs so far and am so happy and proud but mostly bewildered. I know the work I am doing is paying off because I can see the outcome in the mirror and the fact that the only clothes I have that fit are gym clothes, everything else it too big and given away, (I have 1 pair of jeans!).

Anyway, I am having a horrible time getting my mind to understand that I am not 248lbs anymore. If I go try on clothes I still go for the 2x, when someone asks how much weight I have lost I have to think about it for a sec, and when I picture myself I am still 248. Just wondering if it ever goes away and I will be able to live in my skin for real any time in the future! Oh and another thing I do is when I think about my goal wight I am still thinking 73Lbs and not 36.4Lbs, omg I just realized I am half way there!!! See, I feel like a loon most days!!

It takes awhile to get used to the new body. You'll get there. Look at your before pictures frequently and you'll definitely see the change.
  • Ah Tam, it is so weird and so difficult isn't it? I think the looking at your old photos is a great idea. Get hubby or one of the kids to take a picture of you now and put that onto the fridge with an 'old you' picture.

I think you need to go get a new pair of jeans! Lol. I bet that will be another thing to hit home with how fab you have done!

    Lots of hugs xxx

My daughter and myself have had this problem , she has lost over100lbs! and had to learn to dress differently, i have lost 31lbs, and some days feel like i have got nowere!

I was told by a friend years ago to get rid of all my big clothes , which i did but my daughter and i both kept 1 item that used to fit snugly ( my daughter, apair of shorts, size 24 ) she is a 12 now! me a skirt that i could onlt just fasten ,(a size 16) now i'm a 12.
when were having a bad day we put them on and laugh as we realise have far we have come.
  • i have the same problems i still find myself going for the size 24 clothes, i have not been a size 24 for over 5 years now
  • make sure you keep a pair of your big jeans like i did, so that on days where you think you are fat and huge you dig them out put them on and have a good laugh
