I have been reading through a few forums on here and have noticed people mentioning their weigh-in practices. I just wanted to get a general idea in one spot of how, when, how often, people do their weigh-ins. Also, I wouldn't mind hearing if you have any weird rituals before stepping on the scale....guess I'm just trying to gauge my own normalcy.
Thanks,
Brian

I personally weigh in once a week, Monday mornings and I make sure I do it before eating and after going to the bathroom. By doing this I get my lowest weight of the day. I like doing it on Mondays because it keeps me on track over the weekends. I know there are a lot of people on here who weight themselves a lot more often so they see the changes day to day, but that would make me crazy to see the scale go up a pound down a pound up .5 pounds down 2 pounds. I just want to know what my weight loss is for the week and not every ounce gained of lost throughout the week. In the end it’s a personal choice on what keeps you on track.0

I do it every week, same day and same time, right after I wake up and use the bathroom. If I'm on the first days of my period, I don't weigh in as the body is retaining a lot of water!0

I think you’ll find people all across the board on this one (daily, weekly, hourly). I only weigh in once a month, first thing in the morning. I also take measurements at that time. Weighing or measuring any more often than that makes me too obsessed with the numbers, and not focused on simply hitting my nutritional and exercise goals. But for many, weighing as infrequently as I do, would throw them too far off track.0

My official weigh in is once a week, Monday mornings. After I pee but before I eat breakfast.
And I do it in the same type of clothes every time. That's the one I count as my "for real" weight. I do weigh myself a couple other mornings through out the week just to see how I'm doing.
Doing it on Monday helps keep me accountable for what I eat over the weekend.0 -
@Defygravity...that is what I am talking about. That is mostly what I do. I weigh myself every weekday. Monday through Wednesday are monitoring weights and they don't count. Friday morning is my official weigh-in. I give myself free Saturdays, which means I can eat whatever I want and as much of it as I want on that one day a week. I already know in my head that Friday or Saturday is going to be my lowest weight. Monday is going to be about 4 lbs up from my low weight and as I poop and exercise throughout the week I come back into line with my Friday goal. There is also the added benefit of feeling like complete crap on Sunday from eating garbage food, so I kind of have a junk food hangover. It reminds me that food that I consider bad is inherently bad and makes me feel not good, it also gives me an outlet so I don't fall completely off-track.0

The only weight I track is weekly on the same day. First thing in the morning, after I pee, before I shower, and I weigh naked or wearing only underwear & a tank or t-shirt.0
