So Ive decided I very much want a tattoo on the top of my foot, maybe my favorite flower (tiger lily) with my daughter's name (brooklynn) somewhere with it? Im just terrified of the pain, but once you start, its not like you can change your mind, anyone have a pain gauge or comparison for me for tattooing the top of your foot?

I've got the tops of both of mine covered..
and your fear is well placed...
I have several large tattoos, and haven't ever had an issue handling the pain, but I almost passed out while getting my left foot done.
YOOOWCH!!0 -
Koozy, I have no idea, but I WANT ONE TOOOOOOOO!!!
HEEEEEEEYYYYYY... Where do you live? Let's go together!!!! Haha!0 -
Tattoos hurt no getting around it and the thinner the skin the more pain.
The good part is it only hurts (mostly) while your getting it done.
go for it i think it money well spent.0 -
I agree w/ Manda!! Your feet are very sensitive! I have 3 dragonflies on the top of my right foot and the middle one was probably the most painful tattoo I've ever had. That being said, I am TOTALLY getting my left one done soon. The pain only lasts for a little while, right???0

i have one on my back, and where the skin is close to the bone it was pretty painful. but nothing to be terrified about.0

i have 4 tattoos and am planning to get more i just love them etc its kinda like a little stinging and burning its so hard to explan like child birth lol and more to the point u have given birth and its nothen near what thats like  its a barable pain plus looking at a peice of art put on your body watching the whole process makes it sooo worth it,i think your idea is fab and always love when a tattoo means something, look around and ask people check out peoples portfolios and be fussy at the end of the day this is your body and your the one who has to live with it! hope you do and try not to worry to much lol just remember its quicker and less painful than child birth youve done proberly the most painfull thing on earth everything else is weak!  :flowerforyou:0

I don't have any on my feet so I have no idea on the pain factor there. I do have one on my finger granted it's not a toe or anything  but that one didn't bother me... but I know feet are more sensitive. None of mine bothered me that much. It does have to do with how you handle pain also. One of my husbands had one done on his upper arm and passed out  yeah... he was a wimp ~snickers~0

i knew it Manda, I knew it would hurt, I was just hoping someone had aomething different, im skeered!!!
But I reallllllly want it, guess ill have to decide if the pain is worth the product....hhmm..0 -

I have a star tatooed on each of my big toes and they hurt like he!!. They are very cute though and I like them b/c it's different.0

I have a japense symbol of love on the top of my left foot and a toe ring tattoo on my right foot. Lets just say I put my husband in a head lock when those were getting done!!! LOL0

I have one on my left foot stretching across the whole top of the foot. And yea, it hurt worse than any other tat I have gotten. But, I didn't cry so it wasn't unbearable! (if that is a comfort at all to ya).
Despite the pain, I am going to get new colors put it in it and am also thinking about what I want on my right foot. So don't let the pain scare you away. Just be prepared and maybe drink lots of moonshine! (or that might have just been my answer)0 -

Oh so true, and like Manda I was not told the truth either. I was in love with the way a tat felt and would have appreciated if I had known what I was in for. But I would do it all over again.0 -
Personally, it was the worst pain I've ever felt being tattooed. My husband said the same.
BUT the pain only lasts a little while, right? And then you've got a beautiful dedication to your daughter.
My husband has my son's little footprint from his birth certificate tattooed on his right foot. It's pretty gosh darn adorable.0 -

Depending on where you go, they might not even tattoo you if you've been drinking. The tattoo shop I go to makes you sign a waiver saying that you're not drunk or under the influence or anything and if they smell alcohol on you, they won't do it. Just my two little cents.0 -

You do bleed a little more, but the guy doing mine said it was better for me because of where mine was he kept hitting nerves and my leg would twitch and jump, so I needed something to help with that. We chose bleeding over having to go over and over the same spots to fix mistakes.0 -

I used to work in a shop....
Not only will any reputable artist refuse to work on you if you've been drinking, alcohol is a blood thinner, and it certainly doesn't help the ink stay under your skin..
I always told customers they had to "earn" their body art.0 -
I'm so scared now!
I've been wanting to go get a rosary tattoed around my ankle & down my foot... I'm starting to have doubts!!!0 -

That is very true. I had a friend do mine and we had drawn it up days before hand so he knew it wasn't an impulsive (drunken) thing. And like I said we decided to deal with more blood versus mistakes.0 -
I'm a little shy about showing my tat...but I'll hide my pride and show you...here goes!
